  • Presently the Coordinator of Football Officials, Gateway Football Conference: 1986 to Present.
  • College Football Official within the Big Eight Conference: 1970-1980: 
    • Officiated 1980 Sugar Bowl between Alabama and Arkansas.
    • Worked numerous Bowl Assignments including the 1979 National Championship Sugar Bowl between Alabama and Penn State.
  • Served as clinician at Eastern Illinois Football Clinics.
  • High School and College Football Official: 1951-1969:
    • Officiated numerous State Football Championships.

Football Honors:

  • Inducted into The St. Louis Officials Association Inaugural Hall of Fame in 1999.
  • Inducted into Metropolitan Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 1995.
  • Received Gene Barth Award from the National Football Foundation for “Excellence in Football Officiating” in 1995.
  • Received the Herm Rohrig Award for “Contributions to the Development of Sports Officials” in 1993.
  • Merit Award from the St. Louis Officials Association for “Outstanding Service and Contributions to the St. Louis Officials Association”.

  • Teacher, Athletic Director, and Baseball Coach at McCluer High School: 1957-1979.
    • Participated in Missouri State Baseball Tournament:
      • 2nd place finishes: 1969, 1961, and 1957.
  • Teacher and Basketball Coach at Ferguson High School: 1951-1957.
  • Teacher, Basketball, Baseball, and Track Coach at Valley Park High School: 1949-1951.
  • Varsity Baseball Coach at Valley Park High School: 1949-1950.
  • Numerous high place finishes in Suburban North Baseball Conference.

Baseball Career:

  • Webster AC County National League: 1948-1949.
  • Capaha Indians: 1947-1948.
  • Muny League B1 Beverage: 1940-1942.
  • Webster Groves High School: 1941-42.

Baseball Honors:

  • Received “The Bob Broeg Award” from Greater St. Louis Amateur Baseball Association as a coach who exemplified excellence in teaching and coaching baseball in 1995.
  • Inducted into the Greater St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994.
  • Established and conducted Baseball Clinics for young players through “The Greater St. Louis Athletic Association”.
  • Clinician for the University of Missouri Baseball Clinics conducted by Coach Simmons.
  • Conducted Baseball Camps at McCluer High School for young players in North County.

Miscellaneous:

  • Owned and operated Tshots Golf Driving Range 1976-1998.
  • Military Service: U.S. Navy 1943-1946.

  • Married to Horty Tschannen.
  • Father of Cathy Tschannen Banzhaf, Carol Warren, Gary Tschannen, and Terry Tschannen.
  • Grandfather of six.
